Modern Shamanism offers a process for personal exploration and growth based on original traditions from around the world.  The practices are profoundly spiritual and rooted in nature. They provide a powerful map for coming "home" ... freeing us from old habits of mind and body and allowing each of us to heal the past and to cultivate our aliveness.

The Medicine Wheel will be facilitated by Ellyn Rosenthal, M.A. over a two-year period, beginning with this workshop Friday through Sunday, March 19 - 21, 2010, in Portland, OR. We will meet for three days every six months for the teachings of each cardinal direction.

We will learn the world view and seeing skills of the shaman, working effectively and with integrity to increase our capacity for transformation, creation and availability to life. We shed the hold our past has on us - the way the cosmic Serpent sheds her skin - in fluidity and without struggle. As we continue, Jaguar teaches us how to free ourselves and our community from the way lifelessness has stalked us, and to live with unconditional compassion. Eagle shows us the way to view our lives in a framework of vision and connection. With all of these medicine archetypes, we release ourselves into the mystery teachings and cultivate the luminous awareness and practical skills that allow us to access our deepest knowing and power.

The three days together will be highly experiential; we will engage in self-exploration, sharing, writing, meditating, journeying, in ritual and ceremony. The workshop cost is $425.

You need not commit to the two year process to begin the work. Space is limited, so please call/email to express interest or to register. Non-refundable deposits of $200 by March 5th will guarantee your place. Then registration will be welcome as space permits.
